Mission
The observance of Old Home Day has been a long-standing New Hampshire tradition for over the past 100 years. It was started in 1899 by Governor Frank Rollins as an effort to remedy the decline of the small farming town by inviting former residents, friends and family back to the Granite State to make new acquaintances and renew old ones. Londonderry is one a handful of New Hampshire communities that have faithfully observed Old Home Day on the third weekend in August since 1899. The Town's volunteer Old Home Day Committee has been actively planning Londonderry's 112th celebration since September 2007.

The event attracts over 12,000 people and is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 and finish Sunday, August 21, 2011. The five-day event promises to provide some good old-fashioned fun for all; past and present residents of all ages, invited guests and relatives, anyone who is interested in experiencing a part of Londonderry, New Hampshire. The Old Home Day Celebration starts with a concert for our Seniors and ends with a contemporary Christian Concert on Sunday. Here are just a few of the exciting activities that are planned; concerts, fireworks, parade, 5k road race, baby contest, children's games, pie eating contest all geared to a home town traditionally family celebration.
