Marriage License/ Birth & Death Certificates

The Town Clerk’s office issues marriage licenses for persons wishing to be married in the State of New Hampshire.  This includes out-of-state residents.  The license is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.  Both parties must be present to apply for the license and must provide valid picture identification, such as a driver’s license or passport.

If either party is divorced, a certified copy of the divorce decree is required; if either party is widowed, a certified copy of the death certificate of the former spouse is required; and if either party’s previous marriage was annulled, a certified copy of the civil annulment decree is required.
The fee for a marriage license is $50.00 and may be paid by cash, check or credit card.  If a credit card is tendered, 2.79% will be added to the cost ($1.50 minimum).

The Town Clerk is available to perform civil marriage ceremonies.  Please call 432-1100 ext. 199 for more information.
Office Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  Please arrive by 4:00 pm to apply for a marriage license.

The Town Clerk’s office issues State of New Hampshire vital records – birth, death, marriage, civil union & divorce certificates – to qualified individuals and agencies that provide a ‘direct and tangible’ interest in the record.  Please call the office @ 603/432-1100 ext. 195 if you have questions about your access rights.

A $15.00 fee is charged for a record search, whether or not a certified copy can be processed. The fee for each additional copy of the same record is $10.00.  The fee(s) may be paid by cash, check or credit card.  If a credit card is tendered, 2.79% will be added to the cost ($1.50 minimum).

Persons requesting vital records in person must complete and sign an application form and provide picture identification.  Vital records requested in writing by mail must include payment;  a self-addressed, stamped envelope; and a copy of the requestor’s driver’s license.  Send requests, including payment, to Town of Londonderry, Town Clerk’s Office, 268B Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH  03053.  In addition, vital records may be requested via the Town of Londonderry website.  Please visit the website and follow the on-screen directions.

The Town Clerk’s office can access all Town of Londonderry vital records, as well as many records originating in other cities and towns in New Hampshire because of access to the State of New Hampshire database.  However, many older records may not be in the State database, and applicants may be directed to the city or town where the record originated, or to the State of NH Division of Vital Records.
