Engine 1 is a 2003 Pierce Saber.  It is equipped with a 1250 GPM pump.  It carries 1000 gallons of water, 20 gallons of Class A foam and 40 gallons of Class B foam.  An onboard hydraulic tool and electric cord reel allows firefighters to bring power and extrication tools up to 200' from the engine. 

 

Engine 1 is located at Station 1.  It responds first due to incidents in areas north of Litchfield Road, and to all fires in town.  It also shares responses to Interstate 93 with Engine 2.
