Londonderry Leach Library Used Book Donation Guidelines

The Londonderry Leach Library welcomes donations of good used books. Used book donations are accepted in accordance with the gift policy. Books not added to the collection may be sold in the library’s used book store or given to another library. We regret that used books cannot be accepted with conditions for use. Questions regarding used book donations may be directed to Sally Nelson at 432-1127 or email at snelson@londonderrynh.org. It is recommended to call or contact us before bringing in donations. We do not provide pickup, and books should not be left outside the library or in the book return. A tax receipt will be provided if requested when you drop off the donations.

When offering items to the library please use the following guidelines to sort your books.

We are interested in hardcover books of these types: recent best sellers, fiction and non-fiction; mysteries; science fiction; biographies; history; current science; crafts, home repair/decorating; cooking; health and exercise; art/music; indoor and outdoor gardening; and children’s books in excellent condition.

We accept paperback fiction in good, saleable condition.

Books must be appealing, clean and in good condition. Paperbacks must have covers and hardcover novels must have paper jackets.

We are unable to use and do not accept: encyclopedias more than 5 years old; hardcover fiction more than 10 years old unless the authors are still popular; textbooks of any kind; discards from any library; Reader’s Digest condensed books; magazines. The library also does not accept any books that are written in or highlighted, with missing or torn pages or covers, damaged in any other way, or that have been stored in a damp, musty environment.

Thank you for offering good used books to the library. Your generosity will help the library to grow.
