The Leach Library will lend materials to other libraries. The following are guidelines: The Leach Library loans books. We do not loan reference materials, audio books, music, CD-ROMs, DVDs, videos or magazines. Requests for copies of individual periodical articles will be filled through the Reference Department, if the request complies with copyright law.
The Library accepts requests through the NHSL electronic system, e-mail, telephone or ALA forms faxed or mailed from libraries only, not from individual patrons.
The Library does not lend material published within the last 6 months for which there is heavy demand for here, or older materials that are still in constant use. The loan period is 4 weeks from the day the material is loaned. Renewal of interlibrary loan material is at the discretion of the lending library. There will be no collection of late fees.
When material is lost or damaged, the borrowing library is responsible for the replacement cost and a $3.00 billing charge. Out of print materials will be charged a standard $25.00 replacement cost.
The Library will pay the postage or shipping fee for interlibrary loan transactions.
