Beautify Londonderry is the town wide clean-up event that takes place annually from late April through mid-May. The heart of this initiative lies with residents, local companies, groups and organizations who volunteer to polish their neighborhoods and public spaces. Some groups focus on litter along the roadways while others make improvements to the community landscape. Projects include raking, weeding and planting at school grounds and fields, Morrison House, Town Common, Senior Center, Kendall Pond and Musquash Conservation Areas, Londonderry Trailways, and other town properties. You can also show some “roadside pride” by picking up litter along our streets. It’s a wonderful time for young people to plan and perform a service project, and for neighbors and friends to have fun together doing something for their town. All this is accomplished through the efforts of the volunteers and the generosity of Beautify Londonderry sponsors. With the help of sponsors we are able to provide work gloves, safety vests, trash and recycling bags, mulch, and plants. The goal is to make the clean-up activities as safe and as easy as possible. If you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring the event, please complete the appropriate registration form.
Beautify Londonderry generally begins in April and runs into May. Beautify Londonderry is an all-volunteer effort focused in two areas: cleaning litter from the sides of our roads and general landscaping beautification projects on town properties. If you want to volunteer, you can contact Joy Muller via email by email.
Volunteers are given all the supplies they need to complete projects – all we need is your time! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Joy, and we welcome anyone who wants to join the small committee that organizes the Beautify event!
The budget for Beautify Londonderry comes from corporate and private donations. If you are interested in donating, please reach out to Joy.
